This Spring, 30 area businesses, WPVQ Bear Country Radio, and community members teamed up to raise over $23,000 for the 8th annual Cooley Cares for Kids program, nearly doubling the $12,000 raised in 2017.
Year after year, the community’s and local business’s support for the Cooley Cares for Kids program helps to provide compassionate, personalized care to over 9,000 children and teens who are served by Cooley Dickinson annually.
“Who doesn’t want to help improve the quality of health care received by our local kids?” says Dror Shmerling, business manager of Cedar Chest. “We are fortunate to have such a high quality health care provider in our town.”
This year’s proceeds will benefit Cooley Dickinson’s Childbirth Center. For many families, the Childbirth Center may be their first hospital experience and the beginning of their family’s relationship with Cooley Dickinson.
“We are so grateful for all of the community members who support Cooley’s pediatric programs,” says Cooley Dickinson Health Care Development Officer Jennifer Margolis. “It’s so heartwarming to see champions of this program like the Cedar Chest and F.P.S. Burger King help it grow and evolve year after year.”
The Cooley Dickinson Childbirth Center was recently voted Best Birthing Center by The Valley Advocate for the second consecutive year, and also this year was accredited as a Baby-Friendly facility, realizing a years-long effort. Cooley Dickinson Hospital is in the planning stages of a campaign to renovate our Childbirth Center and meet the evolving needs of our community.
Thank you to all of our local business participants:
