“We’re excited that Dr. Brian Hoffman will be joining our team. His wealth of experience and breadth of skills complements the strengths of our provider team,” says Jonathan Fallon, DO, Medical Director of CDMG Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and Chief of Orthopedics at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
Adds Dr. Fallon, “given the complexity of foot and ankle conditions seen here in the Valley, we look forward to offering a new level of expertise to our community.”
On Treating Patients
Dr. Hoffman’s patient care philosophy is grounded in the belief that the most satisfied patients come from the most collaborative relationships with their doctors.
“I value direct communication, open conversations about goals and expectations, and an understanding of what is most important to each individual. Kindness, humor, and positivity are also important because having surgery can create anxiety and a feeling of lost control, and it’s always nice to see a friendly face when you’re nervous or uncomfortable,” says Dr. Hoffman.
In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Hoffman loves spending time with his wife and daughter as well as hiking, skiing, traveling, cooking and playing the bass guitar.
Dr. Hoffman received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, where he also performed his internship. He served his residency in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he also completed a research fellowship at the facility’s Hospital for Joint Diseases. Dr. Hoffman also completed a fellowship at Duke University Medical Center’s Division of Foot & Ankle Surgery in Durham, North Carolina. Prior to medical school, he graduated with honors from the University of Rochester.
Since returning to Massachusetts to practice in 2007, Dr. Hoffman has worked at Baystate Medical Center’s Franklin County location in Greenfield, where he served as co-chair of the Hospital Quality Council, Chaired the Department of Surgery and held the title of Medical Director at Valley Orthopedic Surgery. Additionally, he was honored with the Center’s Medical Leadership Award in 2012. He is currently Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
