Cooley Dickinson is happy to be back to publishing its community newsletter, Advancing Your Health. Since you last heard from us, we have been busy. With this fall issue of 2020, we introduce new radiation treatment technology for people with cancer. Our new linear accelerator expands the types of cancers that can be treated with radiation locally in our community. We report on a Hadley mom, who benefitted from the wisdom, compassion and guidance of her midwives. (Birthing during a pandemic was clearly not what she anticipated!) We tell you about our commitment to safe care and how we can help you get the care you need (hint: telephone and video visits are the new normal.) Cooley Dickinson’s A Positive Place reflects on how their dedicated staff provided care to vulnerable people during the pandemic. And there is help for those struggling with foot and ankle ailments. Meet our latest orthopedic surgeon, Brian Hoffman, MD, via livestream on Oct. 1 at 6 pm. Plus Urgent Care in Amherst is now open at 170 University Drive.
