Adults interested in donating blood will have an opportunity to do so at a community blood drive scheduled for Monday, Oct. 3, from 10 am to 5:30 pm at Cooley Dickinson Hospital’s North Building parking lot.
“The blood shortage continues, and our community continues to seek ways to help,” said Catherine Reed, MBA, MT(ASCP), Cooley Dickinson Administrative Director, Clinical Services and blood drive organizer.
Cooley Dickinson Hospital is partnering with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center to bring their blood mobile to Northampton on Monday, Oct. 3. The blood mobile will be set up in the parking lot in front of the hospital’s North Building.
Appointments can be scheduled by logging in to https://tinyurl.com/CooleyO3. For donation eligibility questions, send an email to BloodDonor@partners.org or call 617-632-3206. Blood products collected during this drive will help provide care to our community and patients within the Mass General Brigham system.
Added Reed, “we are thrilled to be able to provide this opportunity and we look forward to making this blood drive a success.”
All donors will receive a $10 gas card. A photo ID is required for blood donation; blood donors should drink extra water and eat before donating blood. All donor types are welcome.
