Careers at Cooley Dickinson Health Care
Rewarding professional challenges. Potential for growth and development. And a great place to call home.
A Historic Pillar of the Community
Cooley Dickinson Hospital, an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital and a member of Partners HealthCare, is an acute care community hospital that serves the greater Pioneer Valley in Western Massachusetts. Founded in 1885 with a bequest from Caleb Cooley Dickinson “to establish and put in operation in the town of Northampton a hospital for the sick poor,” the organization provides a full range of high-quality health and wellness services in a compassionate, personal environment. The larger umbrella of Cooley Dickinson Health Care encompasses the hospital as well as a broad network of affiliated medical practices, and currently employs more than 1,900 medical professionals and support staff.
Every year Cooley Dickinson serves more than 75,000 patients in its hospital and affiliated practices, logs over 50,000 home care visits through its VNA and Hospice program, and delivers on average over 600 babies at its award-winning Childbirth Center. Over 30,000 people visit its emergency room annually; over 65,000 undergo medical imaging exams; and laboratory technicians conduct more than 750,000 tests.
As a full-time Cooley Dickinson employee, you’ll receive competitive pay, a range of health and life insurance benefits and a generous and flexible Earned Time Off program. You’ll also accumulate extended sick leave to help you should you become seriously ill, and are eligible to contribute to a variety of retirement planning options. You can also use the onsite wellness center.
Opportunities for All
In addition to openings for nurses, technicians, physicians and advanced practice clinicians, there are many non-clinical positions available within the organization, including in food service, maintenance, information systems, human resources and more. No matter what their professional function, every employee makes a difference in people’s lives at Cooley Dickinson Health Care.
“All work here eventually helps patients,” says Vice President of Operations and Chief Administrative Officer Anthony Scibelli.
