Hands are the gateway through which people interact with their world - be it at home, work, sports, or playing musical instruments. I chose hand therapy as a career because I find it to be the most rewarding specialty of rehab – to assist patients in reclaiming their ability to function, and lead meaningful lives.
Gail Hegeman has been a Certified Hand Therapist since 1999 and has worked with the Cooley Dickinson Medical Group since 2000. In addition, Gail is an Ergonomic Specialist and has spent her career providing detailed consultation on management of work-related injuries. She specializes in treating injured musicians. As a musician herself, Gail has guided many instrumentalists in the Pioneer Valley through conditions and eventually helped enable them to return to playing.
