Biography
Dr. McCarthy is a board certified Psychiatrist specializing in child and adolescent psychopharmacology. She has a B.S. in Zoology from Ohio University and received her medical Degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Residency requirements were completed at the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry at the West Virginia University Health Services Center, where she was named Chief Resident and went on to complete a Fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. Her affiliations with psychiatric professional associations include membership in the American Psychiatric Association Practice Research of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Additionally, she is an active participant in the American Psychiatric Practice Research Network. Dr. McCarthy has been a member of the Valley Medical Group since 1997. She practices in Amherst Medical Center and Northampton Health Care.
