My role as a nurse practitioner in the cancer center is to work with a multidisciplinary team to offer compassionate and holistic care, listen to your story, and provide education and guidance for you and your family throughout your oncology course.
Lauren felt a strong pull to work in the oncology setting since her grandmother’s ovarian cancer diagnosis. Overwhelmed with questions, she first decided to pursue the research path to find answers. However, it was ultimately the compassionate care her grandmother received from her nurses and providers from diagnosis to her end-of-life that inspired her to pursue a path in nursing, and seeing the difference that nurses and providers could make in patients’ and caregivers’ lives made her want to be a part of that difference for others. She enjoys working with a multidisciplinary team to navigate patients and their families through their cancer diagnosis, treatment, and bumps along the road, and hopes to provide calm and peace for patients and their families in the chaos of the oncology world.
Lauren loves western Mass for its beautiful outdoors, the seasons (a new phenomena to a Californian), the proximity to larger cities like Boston and NYC. She enjoys hiking with her dog Teddy, DIY house projects, thrift store shopping, good cheese, and getting lost in a good book.
