The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program is an attention-training program – a structured, systematic educational approach that uses intensive training in mindfulness meditation to teach us to cultivate nonjudgmental moment-to-moment awareness. It is based on Jon Kabat Zinn’s Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program offered at UMass Worcester and described in his book Full Catastrophe Living. The goal is to move away from habitual thought patterns and reactive habits, and instead to live fully in the present moment with acceptance and equanimity. By doing this we generally find that we’re happier, as are the people around us!
The cost includes a copy of Stahl & Goldstein’s A Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Workbook, which includes 21 guided meditations in MP3 format, CD’s of guided meditations from the Valley Stress Reduction teachers, and other instructional materials.
