Speech-Language Pathology
Our Speech-Language Pathology program provides therapy for both body and mind. We help people with speech challenges stemming from birth and childhood conditions, hearing impairment and neurological disorders, as well as with related cognitive skills. We can also treat those dealing with post-trauma or post-surgical speech issues, and who may also have concurrent swallowing disorders following head and neck cancer.
We offer specific therapy for:
- Speech and articulation deficits
- Oral-motor deficits (e.g. apraxia, dysarthria)
- Language intervention
- Aural rehab following cochlear implant
- Cognitive-linguistic retraining following concussion or stroke or for Alzheimer’s patients (for memory, organization, and problem-solving skills)
- Cognitive impairment (following concussion/stroke)
- Word-finding difficulties
- Reading and writing impairment
- Social pragmatic deficits
- Voice disorders for children and adults (including vocal cord dysfunction)
- Modified barium swallow studies for children and adults
