Lighting the Way
Trees of Love and Thanksgiving is a fundraising initiative of the Friends of Cooley Dickinson and the Pastoral Care Department that offers community members the opportunity to memorialize and honor loved ones.
You can purchase a light to honor someone who has made a difference in your life by making a gift of $15 or more in his/her memory. The lights illuminate the trees in Cooley Dickinson Hospital’s Healing Garden and create an enchanting, warm holiday glow for all to enjoy. Furthermore your gift will also help illuminate lives by raising funds to provide free infant car beds and needed hospital services and equipment.
Family members of those you honor with your gift will be notified of your donation in a card sent to them by mail. The name of the donor and the honoree will also be displayed at the hospital.
Give Every New Child the Best Start We can Give Them
For over twenty years, the Trees of Love & Thanksgiving event has raised needed funding to support initiatives most critical to Cooley Dickinson, your community hospital. Your generosity helps light the trees throughout the Healing Garden at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. More importantly, this year, your donation will help Cooley’s youngest patients.
Your gift today will support the Childbirth Center at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
The Childbirth Center, constructed nearly 20 years ago, is in need of renovations and upgrades so that mothers and families can welcome their new babies with the compassionate, personalized care that they expect and deserve. In addition, programs and services will be expanded to include more support groups before and after birth, as well as training to enhance caregivers’ ability to nurture and support patients with an emphasis on holistic care, encompassing the mind, body, and spirit.
Through your donation to Trees of Love & Thanksgiving, you make these renovations and programs possible.
In addition to supporting the Childbirth Center, a portion of your gift will be used to purchase ten infant car beds. These beds are necessary to provide safe transport home from the hospital for underweight infants. Parents in need are profoundly grateful when they receive these car beds.
Every year individuals like you step forward to generously give in honor or in memory of a loved one. For Rose Ann Jarmolowicz, her annual gift in memory of her grandson, Zach McMahon, is an important way to honor his memory. “Zach was a great athlete who loved football, riding his bike, playing video games, and spending time with his family,” remembers Rose Ann. “At 16 years old, Zach was taken from us way too soon, and he is missed every day.” In 2018 we raised $10,000 for the Childbirth Center and purchased 10 infant car beds for underweight babies. This year, our goal is $15,000.
Will you join Rose Ann in honoring or memorializing a loved one today?
